Isanti Dogwood is a deciduous shrub with green leaves & small white flowers in spring and summer, then turning beautiful deep red in fall with white berries that birds love. Come winter, when the leaves fall off, you're left with red branches that catch your eye till spring comes back.
This shrub checks all the boxes if you're looking for something that's low maintenance, beautiful all year interest, pollinator friendly, does well in extremely cold climates and can tolerate pretty much any soil from boggy areas to dry! What's not to love! Keep watered while roots establish and water after that in times of drought. Add a thick layer of mulch around the base to keep roots cool. This shrub does best in full sun but can tolerate part shade. Doesn't need pruning unless you want to shape it, but has a beautiful natural appearance.
